They say that when life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. But for An Qing, the situation was a little different. Instead of lemons, she had an abundance of hot peppers, specifically known as “An Qing Acrid Peppers.” And instead of a traditional dish, she decided to try something unique – making a savory pancake called “Pudding” with them.
As she mixed the batter, An Qing couldn’t help but think of her pet pig, Xiao Zhu. She had noticed that whenever Xiao Zhu walked on the hot sand outside their house, his little hooves would get red and blistered. It was a sad sight, but also inspired her to do something for him.
With the pancake batter ready, An Qing carefully placed some An Qing Acrid Peppers inside the mixture before cooking it. Once done, she presented the deliciously spicy dish to Xiao Zhu with excitement. The usually voracious pig hesitated at first, sniffing the pancake and taking a cautious bite.
However, as he tasted the spiciness of the An Qing Acrid Peppers, something unexpected happened. Xiao Zhu began to dance around joyfully, his hooves tapping on the floor with delight. It seemed that the hot peppers had not only made the pancake flavorful but also somehow soothed his feet.
Overjoyed by this discovery, An Qing decided to share her creation with others. And thus, “An Qing Acrid Peppers and Xiao Zhu’s Feet” became a popular dish in their neighborhood. People would come from all around to taste the unique combination of spicy peppers and comforting food for sore feet.
And so, An Qing found a way to make lemonade out of lemons – or rather, hot peppers out of blistered pig hooves. She not only made a delicious dish but also brought happiness to those around her with her creativity and compassion.
